📖Magic

Many impossible for us things like creating fireballs, flying etc is considered a magic. In the Monada Alpha Cluster it is done through interplane interactions.

Arcane

Arcane magic is based upon using energy from the Arcane Plane using Mana for it.

To use it a mage needs to create one or more rifts to or from one of the subplanes of the Arcane Plane and keep it for the needed time. The energy from the subplanes can seem simple but with enough imagination possibilities are almost unlimited, well only by abilities of the caster to create and manipulate the rifts. Creation of rifts requires special energy that can cut through them - Mana and special devices/organs.

Rifts used in the Arcane magic have those characteristics:

Position

It's simple: where the rift takes place in the dimension.

Shape and size

Rifts can take both any convex and any flat shapes, almost any size but the bigger the more energy to keep them is needed.

Direction

Direction defines where the energy is directed at. For example if the shape is a sphere then it must be known if the energy goes inside or outside of it.

Emit or absorb

Rifts can be directed IN or OUT the subplane so it is also must be known.

Connection power

Rifts can never truly reach the subplane, only partly and this defines how much it is. So for example from the Therme Subplane you can get a slight heat that could make someone sweat or the one that will make them burn keeping all other characteristics the same like a shape and so on.

All variations of those characteristics and their combinations with other rifts and their variations can do much almost everything, well at least most of the offensive kinds of magic in classic fantasy.
