The subplane of electromagnetism and charge differentials. It governs voltage, magnetic fields, and electrical currents.
Properties
Arcanists use Electra to generate lightning arcs, manipulate magnetic polarity, or disrupt the bio-electric nervous systems of living targets. The subplane forces the movement and polarization of charges already present in the local Matera environment, bypassing the creation of physical particles.
Environmental Dependence
Because Electra relies on exciting existing charges, the effectiveness of a rift is highly dependent on the local atmosphere and material conductivity. A massive lightning arc requires a medium (like humid air or water) to travel through, and magnetic manipulation requires existing ferrous metals or biological iron to act upon. Attempting to draw a massive Electra rift in a perfect vacuum results in a localized static buildup.
Applications
-
Arcing: Creating high-voltage lightning strikes by ionizing a path through the air.
-
Magnetism: Repelling or attracting metallic objects, or stripping weapons from opponents.
-
Neural Disruption: Overloading the synaptic electrical signals of a target to cause paralysis or seizures.
