Powerful artifacts, devices, by high chance made by the Deus. Allows to collect and secure Mana to later apply it in Magic.

Appearance

The devices can be very different in look, shape, materials they are made from.

Production

Catalysts are too complicated to be understood and even harder to produce for non-Deus, so most of them would be kept through generations.

Charge

The source of the Mana is currently unknown, to the user recharge would look like it takes it from nowhere, still there are a few hypotheses about it.

Characteristics

Catalysts have different characteristics that can and will limit what can be done:

  • Capacity: represents how much Mana the Catalyzer can hold before it will need to recharge. Some of Catalyst can have replaceable Mana Storages allowing to quickly get a new one and keep using the Catalyst.

Interfaces

Catalysts have different interfaces that define how the interaction with the Catalyst is done.

Cognitive

Cognitive Catalysts often are one of the most flexible ways to use Magic since they connect themself directly to mind of the user through their psyche. The usage of it is based on intellectual abilities of the user and their willpower, taking commands from thoughts and imagination.

Despite being the most flexible it requires the most of the user, taking much-much time to learn and may take all life to master, to adapt their mind to grasp the true power.

Vocal

The vocal based Catalysts react specifically to voice of the user requiring at first to recognize and record the voice to process and remember it. After that the user can spell commands allowing him to use the Magic in limited relatively of the cognitive interface ways.

Takes way less time to learn than the cognitive interfaced Catalysts and still can be hard to learn, because the only language to be used with them is the Manarian Language which is unnatural and unknown. Still most of the spells can be used without any understanding of the meanings behind them.

The limitations of the vocal interface force Catalyst position and rotation changes to set up some characteristics of the rifts, mostly their position and rotation respectively.
