📖Gobshak

The gobi race produced by a GoSh or ShGo chromosome pair. Gobshak are the mixed expression of the Go template and the Shakoric chromosome. They most often appear when the mother carries strong Shakoric ancestry, but stabilized Gobshak templates can also be decanted from hidden Chrysalis Brood-Vaults.

Appearance and Anatomy

Base: Humanoid

  • Large and broad: Gobshak are taller and heavier than most gobis, often reaching 1.6-2.1m. Their frames are coarse, muscular and built for sudden violence.

  • Skin: Their skin is thick and dark-toned, commonly green-black, grey-blue or mottled brown.

  • Head: Their faces carry a predator-like tension. The Shakoric chromosome can give them sharper canine teeth, cat-like pupils and pointed ears.

  • Bone growths: Some Gobshak develop small bone ridges, horn buds or rough plates on the skull, shoulders or knuckles.

  • Tail: Many Gobshak have short, powerful tails, sometimes ending in a small bony tip.

  • Claws: Their hands and feet bear thick, curved claws suited to grappling and climbing.

  • Maturation: They mature very quickly and become dangerous within a few years.

  • Lifespan: In good conditions they can live 20-45 years.

  • Sex: Almost all known Gobshak are male. Natural females are not known to exist.

Character Tendencies

  • Aggressive: Gobshak are the most openly violent of the common gobi strains. They attack quickly and escalate conflicts without hesitation.

  • Pack-disciplined: Despite their aggression, they can maintain crude pack hierarchy and follow stronger individuals for short periods.

  • Pain-tolerant: They can continue fighting after injuries that would stop most other races.

  • Short-sighted: They rarely plan far ahead. Their strength lies in raids, ambushes and overwhelming pressure rather than long strategy.

  • Predatory: They show strong stalking behavior, especially at night or in ruined, forested and mountainous terrain.

Reproduction

Gobshak cannot sustain themselves through natural gobi reproduction because no natural gobi females are known. A Gobshak male usually transmits the Go template. With a Shakor or Shakor-blooded mother, the offspring is usually Gobshak. With mothers of other lineages, the child becomes another gobi strain.

Like other gobi, they are part of the burnout cycle and cannot form a self-sustaining population without mothers of other races or vault activation.
