📖Vir Races

Vir Deus created many races in the Vir. They were made to be easily bred between each other (despite the cultures they forced upon their creations).

Conception

There is a pair of chromosomes that determines the race of the creature as in the sex chromosomes. From now on we will call them "race chromosomes" and "pair of race chromosomes".

Basic

There are some basic race chromosomes. The pair of two same chromosomes gives us a basic race, and two different give us a mixed one.

Chromosomes

List of currently known basic chromosomes in order of descending of their influence on the creature's phenotype (the higher the more influence it provides for the phenotype, overriding the features of the other chromosome in the pair).

Determination

So. We have two partners: Mother and Father have race chromosomes AB and CD respectively. We have 4 possible variants of their combinations: AC, AD, BC, BD.

The Mother egg cells somehow (?) can choose who to allow to enter them. The logic behind is simple enough: they try to keep the most diverse information in the resulting zygote. It makes chances of appearing of basic races from mixed ones very rare. Also they try to keep race of at least of one of their parents: which is why two orcs will mostly have orc children, and very rarely the other possible ones, and VERY-VERY rare the basic races.

Non compatible birth ways

In cases of incompatible for the mother way of birth for the race they child in the most cases will be "born" dead.

Examples

Example 1

We have Garont(GG) and Ikor (II) mother and father respectively. Combinations of their chromosomes would give us this: GI, GI, GI, GI. So, GI. GI is a dwarf.

So Garont and Ikor can have only dwarves as their children.

Example 2

We have Orc(ShG) and Dwarf(GI) partners. Possible chromosome combinations would be: ShG, ShI, GG, GI. GG does not contain very diverse information so the chance will be very small. ShI does not match any of parents so a chance is low (but higher) too. ShG and GI match their parents and will have an equal chances of appearing.

So we can say that Orcs and Dwarves will almost always having Orcs and Dvarves as children, rarely Elves and very rarely Garont.
