The Shakai are a sord race produced by a ShI or ISh chromosome pair. They combine the Shakoric template with the Ikoric chromosome. Older catalogues often call them elves after the name used by the inhabitants.
Appearance and Anatomy

Tall and lean: Shakai commonly stand 1.9-2.5m. Their bodies favor speed, climbing, and precise movement.

Skin: Their skin ranges from deep blue, black and dark bronze to pale grey or cold silver, depending on lineage.

Head: Their faces are angular, with pointed ears and sharp hearing. Eye forms vary; cat-like pupils, mirrored pupils and patterned irises all occur.

Bone growths: Some Shakai develop small cranial ridges or horn buds, usually smaller than those of a shakor.

Tail: Many Shakai have a slender tail, sometimes ending in a reduced bony tip.

Claws: Their claws are present, usually thinner and more curved than those of a pure Shakor.

Psyche traces: Many Shakai show mild sensitivity to strong emotions, charged places or residual memory. True resonator talent remains rare.

Lifespan: In good conditions they can live 90-160 years.

Reproduction
The ShI or ISh chromosome pair produces Shakai. They most often appear when one parent carries strong Shakoric ancestry and the other carries strong Ikoric ancestry.
Two Shakai parents usually have Shakai children, though the chromosome pool can rarely produce shakor or ikor traits. With parents of other lineages, the child follows the inherited chromosome pair.
