📖Shagar

The Shagar are a sord race produced by a ShG or GSh chromosome pair. They combine the Shakoric template with the Garontic chromosome. Older catalogues often call them orcs after the name used by the inhabitants.

Appearance and Anatomy

Base: bipedal

  • Broad and dense: Shagar commonly stand 1.7-2.3m. Their frames are heavy, muscular and built for hauling, grappling and sustained physical activity.

  • Skin: Their skin is thick and tough. Common tones include grey, brown, dark red, dark bronze and deep blue-black.

  • Head: Their faces are strong-jawed, with prominent brow ridges and pointed ears. Some develop bone ridges, horn buds or rough plates on the skull or shoulders.

  • Tail: Many Shagar have a thick tail ending in a bony tip.

  • Claws: Their claws are heavy and slightly curved, useful for digging, gripping and close combat.

  • Endurance: They combine Shakoric burst strength with Garontic stamina.

  • Lifespan: In good conditions they can live 55-85 years.

Character Tendencies

These tendencies describe common averages. Individual Shagar vary greatly.

  • Tireless: Shagar can march, dig, haul and struggle for long periods once committed to a task.

  • Stubborn: They fixate strongly on tasks, grudges and duties.

  • Direct: They favor simple plans and immediate action.

  • Protective: Shagar often defend their close companions with intense loyalty.

  • Practical: They trust tools, routines and physical results.

Reproduction

The ShG or GSh chromosome pair produces Shagar. They most often appear when one parent carries strong Shakoric ancestry and the other carries strong Garontic ancestry.

Two Shagar parents usually have Shagar children, though the chromosome pool can rarely produce shakor or garont traits. With parents of other lineages, the child follows the inherited chromosome pair.
