📖Dragar

The drake race produced by a DG or GD chromosome pair. Dragar are the mixed expression of the Draconic template and the Garontic chromosome. They are widely known as Kobolds.

Appearance and Anatomy

Base: Drake

  • Small and sturdy: Dragar usually stand 1.1-1.6m tall. Their bodies are compact, dense and suited to tunnels, workshops and hard labor.

  • Scales: Their scales are rough and practical, often earth-toned: brown, rust, grey, olive or dull copper.

  • Head: Their faces are shorter and blunter than those of larger drakes. Many Dragar have strong jaws and grinding teeth.

  • Eyes: Their eyes are alert and adapted to dim light. The third eye helps them sense heat, open flame and changes in underground air.

  • Horns: Their horns are usually short, blunt or swept back so they do not snag in narrow passages.

  • Tail: Their tails are shorter than those of many drakes, while still useful for balance.

  • Claws: Their claws are thick and durable, suited to digging, hauling, scraping and tool work.

  • Cold-blooded: Dragar seek warmth from sunlit stone, hearths, forge rooms and geothermal vents.

  • Lifespan: In good conditions they can live 120-250 years.

Character Tendencies

  • Industrious: Dragar naturally gravitate toward digging, hauling, masonry, metalwork, tunnel keeping and camp maintenance.

  • Communal: They work best in groups and often organize themselves around shared labor, clutch care and workshop duty.

  • Stubborn: Once a Dragar accepts a task, it will often continue until the work is complete or the body fails.

  • Practical: They favor reliable tools, safe routes and proven methods.

  • Guardians of the den: Dragar defend nests, store rooms, tunnels and clutch sites fiercely, especially when their community is threatened.

Society and Labor

Dragar communities commonly form around mines, quarry camps, river levees, forge halls, caravan depots or hidden tunnel networks. Their Garontic ancestry gives them a strong instinct for production and maintenance, while their Draconic ancestry gives them heat sensitivity, scaled resilience and sharp territorial loyalty.
Dragar often serve as miners, tunnelers, builders, porters, furnace keepers and trap makers. Their work tends toward construction, repair and extraction.

Reproduction

The DG or GD pair produces Dragar. They are commonly born from drake lineages mixed with Garont or Garont-blooded partners.
Dragar reproduce through egg laying. Eggs are often kept in warm communal clutches near hearths, compost beds, sun-warmed stone or geothermal vents. Multiple adults may guard and tend the same clutch.
