The kor race created by the Ark. Supposedly they were created as the main labor force of the Arialian society.
Appearance and Anatomy
Base: Humanoid
A male Garont
-
Short and sturdy: Garont stand 115-140cm tall. Their bodies are compact, dense and muscular for their height, adapted for physical work.
-
Build: They have massive torsos, broad shoulders and strong limbs suited for lifting and carrying weights. Each hand has two large thumbs set opposite each other for a better grip and tool work.
-
Skin: Their skin is tough and fibrous, often stone- or clay-colored: grey, brown or dark red. It resists cuts and burns.
-
Head: Their faces are flattened, with strong jaw muscles. Many Garont are bald or have coarse, wiry hair. Their eyes are small and narrow, adapted to bright light and dust.
-
Endurance: Garont are slow, but tireless. Their hearts and lungs are enlarged relative to their body proportions, allowing them to endure long and steady physical strain.
-
Lifespan: Garont usually live 60-80 years. Aging weakens them very little, so most can keep an active life even in old age.
Character Tendencies
Garont were shaped for sustained labor, and their temperament reflects that purpose.
-
Dutiful: Garont accept long, repetitive work more easily than most races. They take satisfaction in tasks that keep their household, workshop or community functioning.
-
Patient: They can maintain the same effort for hours or days, especially when the result is visible and useful.
-
Practical: Garont prefer simple, reliable solutions. They trust tools, routines and proven methods.
-
Stubborn: Once they commit to a task, order or belief, they are difficult to divert. This makes them dependable workers and tenacious opponents.
-
Community-minded: They work best in crews, households, workshops or labor gangs where roles are clear and shared effort is valued.
-
Wary of abstraction: Garont can struggle with abstract theory. They prefer instruction they can see, touch or test.
