The drake race produced by a DSh or ShD chromosome pair. Drakash are the mixed expression of the Draconic template and the Shakoric chromosome. In many outskirt and frontier cultures they are called lizardfolk.
Appearance and Anatomy
Base: Drake
-
Broad and muscular: Drakash are heavy-bodied drakes, commonly 1.9-2.7m tall. Their limbs are thick and built for bursts of speed, grappling and rough terrain.
-
Scales: Their scales are thick and ridged, commonly dark green, slate, rust-brown or marsh-black. The plates around the neck, shoulders and tail are especially sturdy.
-
Head: Their jaws are wide and powerful. They often possess pronounced brow ridges and low crests.
-
Eyes: Their eyes are sharp and adapted to low light. The Shakoric influence can give them narrow predatory pupils.
-
Third eye: The parietal eye remains active and helps them track heat, light and shifting environmental conditions.
-
Horns: Horns are common, often short, curved or broken by conflict.
-
Tail: Their tails are heavy and useful for balance, swimming and striking.
-
Claws: Their claws are thick and curved, suited to gripping prey, climbing banks and digging shallow dens.
-
Cold-blooded: They seek sun, warm stone or shallow water to regulate their body temperature.
-
Lifespan: In good conditions they can live 180-350 years.
Character Tendencies
-
Territorial: Drakash defend nesting sites, hunting waters and warm basking places with great persistence.
-
Predatory: They prefer ambush, stalking and sudden grappling over prolonged formation fighting.
-
Patient: When their environment favors them, they can remain still for long periods.
-
Clan-minded: Drakash often form small packs, nesting clans or war-bands led by the strongest or most experienced hunter.
-
Suspicious: Their instincts make them wary of strangers, especially those who approach their eggs, food stores or basking grounds.
Habitat and Labor
Drakash thrive in wetlands, river deltas, warm coasts, mangroves and hot scrublands. They are strong swimmers and capable ambush hunters. Their Shakoric ancestry gives them stamina for patrol and defense, while their Draconic ancestry gives them resilience and sharp senses.
Reproduction
The DSh or ShD pair produces Drakash. They are commonly born from Dragon, Drakai or Drakash lineages mixed with Shakor or Shakor-blooded partners.
Drakash reproduce through egg laying. Clutches are usually hidden in warm mud, reed nests, shallow burrows or protected stone hollows. Parents or clan guards often watch the site until hatching.
