The Garai are a sord race produced by a GI or IG chromosome pair. They combine the Garontic template with the Ikoric chromosome. Older catalogues often call them dwarves after the name used by the inhabitants.

Short and sturdy: Garai commonly stand 1.3-1.7m. Their bodies are compact, dense and suited to tunnels, workshops and confined spaces.

Hands: Their hands are broad and strong. Many inherit the double-thumb grip typical of garont.

Skin: Their skin is tough and fibrous, commonly grey, brown, clay-red, olive or pale bronze.

Head: Their faces are flatter than those of many pure kor races, with strong jaws and careful eyes. Ikoric influence can produce mirrored, patterned or gem-like pupils.

Reproduction
The GI or IG chromosome pair produces Garai. They most often appear when one parent carries strong Garontic ancestry and the other carries strong Ikoric ancestry.
Two Garai parents usually have Garai children, though the chromosome pool can rarely produce garont or ikor traits. With parents of other lineages, the child follows the inherited chromosome pair.
