📖Gobai

The gobi race produced by a GoI or IGo chromosome pair. Gobai are the mixed expression of the Go template and the Ikoric chromosome. They most often appear when the mother carries strong Ikoric ancestry, but stabilized Gobai templates can also be decanted from hidden Chrysalis Brood-Vaults.

Appearance and Anatomy

Base: Humanoid

  • Lean and alert: Gobai are smaller and slighter than most gobis. Their bodies favor quiet movement, climbing and infiltration over brute strength.

  • Skin: Their skin is usually pale green, ash-grey or mottled violet, often with faint luminous patches around the eyes and temples.

  • Eyes: Their eyes are large, reflective and unusually patterned. Traces of the Ikoric chromosome can give them gem-like or mirrored pupils.

  • Ears: Their ears are large and mobile, giving them acute hearing and sensitivity to faint sounds.

  • Eidos traces: Gobai often show weak Eidos sensitivity. They may sense strong emotions, nearby fear or residual memory in places of trauma, though they are rarely true resonators.

  • Maturation: They mature quickly, but slightly slower than Gobshak or Gobgar.

  • Lifespan: In good conditions they can live 25-50 years.

  • Sex: Almost all known Gobai are male. Natural females are not known to exist.

Character Tendencies

  • Cunning: Gobai are quick learners and natural infiltrators. They prefer ambush, hiding and sabotage over open battle.

  • Eidos-sensitive: They are easily drawn to strong emotional residue, haunted places, old battlefields and sites of intense belief.

  • Infiltrative: They show a strong instinct for entering enclosed spaces, slipping through ruins and approaching settlements unseen.

  • Obsessive: Their minds can fixate on sounds, memories, vault signals or specific prey.

  • Vault-seeking: Gobai are especially sensitive to hidden blueprint caches and may instinctively move toward dormant laboratories.

Reproduction

Gobai cannot sustain themselves through natural gobi reproduction because no natural gobi females are known. A Gobai male usually transmits the Go template. With an Ikor or Ikor-blooded mother, the offspring is usually Gobai. With mothers of other lineages, the child becomes another gobi strain.

Like other gobi, they are part of the burnout cycle and cannot form a self-sustaining population without mothers of other races or vault activation.
