Laconian Draconism is built on the biological dependency of cold-blooded drake races on external heat sources. Dragons produce fire through biological Planar Catalysts in their throats, making them living, mobile, intentional heat sources.

The Sky Mother's promise that Lacon is the true home of the mixed drakes. The Drake Migration is treated as a sacred trial. Every Laconian drake tribe traces its lineage to a specific crossing event. The western shores of Lacon are treated as sacred ground.
The Protectorate System
Laconian society is organized around protection provided by sane dragons to mixed drake settlements. A protectorate forms when a dragon chooses to rest in a specific territory. The arrangement is informal, unwritten, and entirely at the dragon's discretion.

Over the years new mutations occur and some "quirks" sustain themselves as symbol of the nobility's clan. In elite lineages practicing strict Hearth Kinship, minor mutations drift toward homozygosity and express as lineage-specific traits.

The most revered noble lineages (longest Hearth Kinship practice) are the most genetically degraded. Common mixed drakes who outbreed more freely are biologically healthier, sturdier, and more fertile. The social hierarchy is biologically inverted. Laconian society lacks the genetic framework to recognize this.
The Drake Phase Unions
Scope
Interbreeding between dragons and mixed drakes occurs exclusively during the Drake phase (300 to 500 years of age). Ancient dragons do not interbreed with drakes.
Drake Phase Psychology
The Drake phase represents draconic adolescence and young adulthood. These dragons are bipedal, restless, highly mobile, and curious. They are often rebellious against the stagnant, isolated ancient elders of Lacon.

Genetic Rescue
A union between a pure dragon (DD) and a mixed drake introduces a pure D-chromosome into the offspring. This overwhelms accumulated kor mutations and functions as a genetic reset for the maternal lineage. Resulting children are typically larger, longer-lived, and more robust.
A lineage that goes too long without a Dragon-Blessed injection shows visible decline. The highest-ranking families track this beneath the religious ceremony.
The Rare Pure Birth
On exceedingly rare occasions (once in several millennia), the chromosomes align and a mixed drake mother produces a true DD dragon. The offspring is a full dragon: winged, fire-breathing, biologically immortal.

The dragon departs due to its immense scale and shifting perception. It retreats to a peak, cavern, or geothermal vent. The tribe maintains the sacred lineage, tends the resting place, leaves offerings. Some dragons return periodically. Others remain isolated. The lineage endures regardless.
The Dimming Eschatology
Laconian Draconism treats Draconic Demention as an inevitable cosmic cycle. Every dragon will eventually develop the Dimming. Every protectorate will eventually face the loss of its protector.
