While the AIR classifies the institution uniformly as the "Tarosian Royal Magic Academy" for standardization, the in-world nomenclature has drifted significantly over its 5,000-year history, reflecting the shift from pragmatic research to rigid dogma:

Origin
Despite the public sentences about research and "holy artifacts collection", the creation of the academy too suspiciously connects with aging of the Sun-Spire Anchors. Joining
