vir

An artificial dimension supposedly created by Deus for unknown purposes in the Cluster Alpha. Has geocentric structure with one ministar revolving around the main planet. Planet is called by the dimension name - Vir, the ministar is called Lumia, but in the world people still use the "sun" word. Code name in the AIR catalogue: D137

Defining Characteristics

Stone Age

???BC - 2000BC

Hunter-gatherer societies, basic lithic tool usage, early tribal formations, and initial observation of passive planar residues.

New Stone Age

2000BC - 1000BC

Development of early agriculture, establishment of permanent settlements, rudimentary metallurgy, and the first primitive applications of unrefined planar energy.

Copper Age

1000BC - 500AC

Widespread use of soft metals, early tribal unions, and the initial distribution and ritualistic usage of basic Catalysts.

Bronze Age

500AC - 2500AC

Advanced bronze metallurgy, establishment of large-scale empires, formalization of rigid societal structures, and the Virian Cataclysm (0 AC), which scattered advanced knowledge and artifacts.

Age of the Artifact Ceiling

2500AC - 4200AC

Post-Cataclysm stabilization. Societal development becomes heavily reliant on surviving Deus artifacts and Mega Catalysts for macro-scale environmental control. Mundane technological innovation slows globally as divine infrastructure solves large-scale survival problems, leading to a prolonged period of technological stagnation in core regions.

Age of Mundane Divergence

4200AC - 5400AC

A widening technological gap emerges based on environmental necessity. Regions lacking access to stable Deus infrastructure are forced to innovate, achieving advancements in deep-shaft metallurgy, complex mechanical gearing, and early chemistry, while core regions remain locked in optimized but stagnant paradigms.

The Fracture Epoch

5400AC - 5850AC

The breaking point of the old order. Accessible surface ores in core regions are entirely depleted. Smuggled mechanical innovations and early mechanization spread through black markets to meet rising production demands, bypassing traditional institutional controls.

The Industrial Epoch

5850AC - 6000AC+

The formal Industrial Revolution. Widespread mechanization of labor, advanced thermodynamics, and the collapse of artifact-dependent technological monopolies. Societies are forced to rapidly adopt mundane industrial infrastructure to avoid geopolitical and economic obsolescence.

History

Before Cataclysm

It is unknown how exactly Deus interacted with the inhabitants of the Vir but from the high amount of common references and left artifacts even across continents one can understand that they had some presence in the world without direct intervention at least. Most of the races were created by Vir Deus Agents interacted through them too. More about the precataclysm virian cultures can be seen in the respective article.

Deus left many high-technological structures and artifacts spread all around the world all for unknown reasons.

Cataclysm

Unknown event happened shattering all the world, making the Vir Deus to disappear leaving the world, artifacts and all the structures to the virians.

After Cataclysm

History of the Vir after the Cataclysm goes very differently in different parts of the world. The artifacts and structures they left made a great impact on civilizations development.
